Water-swelling water stop strips are a unique new rubber product, which is a general term for putty-type and product-type water stop strips with water-swelling properties. It has the performance of general rubber products and the ability to swell automatically when encountering water, making it a new type of waterproof material. Its water stop and waterproof effects are more reliable than ordinary rubber.
Performance Advantages
Water-swelling rubber has more outstanding characteristics and advantages compared to ordinary rubber. This type of rubber expands 2-3 times upon encountering water, filling all irregular surfaces, voids, and gaps in the joints, while generating enormous contact pressure to completely prevent leakage. When joints or construction seams shift, causing gaps to exceed the elastic range of the material, ordinary rubber water stop materials lose their water-stopping function. However, this material can still stop water by absorbing water and swelling. Using water-swelling rubber as a leak-sealing water stop material not only saves usage but also eliminates the characteristics of general elastic materials that lead to elastic fatigue due to excessive compression, making the waterproof effect more reliable.
