1. Good wear resistance
The ultra-wear-resistant ceramic composite hose has a lining made of corundum ceramic (α-Al2O3), with a Mohs hardness of up to 9.0, equivalent to HRC90 or higher. Therefore, it has extremely high wear resistance for abrasive media transported in industries such as metallurgy, electricity, mining, and coal. Industrial operation has confirmed that its wear life is ten times or even dozens of times that of quenched steel.
2. Low operating resistance
The SHS ceramic composite pipe has a smooth inner surface and is never corroded, unlike seamless steel pipes which have protruding spiral lines on the inner surface. Tests by relevant inspection units on the inner surface roughness and clear water resistance characteristics show that its inner surface smoothness is better than any metal pipeline, with a resistance coefficient of 0.0193, slightly lower than that of seamless pipes. Therefore, this pipe has characteristics such as low operating resistance, which can reduce operating costs.
3. Corrosion resistance and anti-scaling
The corundum ceramic layer (α-Al2O3) has neutral properties. Therefore, it has resistance to acid and alkali as well as seawater corrosion, and also has anti-scaling properties.
4. Good temperature resistance and thermal shock resistance
Due to the corundum ceramic (α-Al2O3) being a single stable crystalline structure, the composite pipe can operate normally for a long time within a temperature range of -50 to 70°C. The material's linear expansion coefficient is 6-8×10^-6/°C, about half that of steel pipes. The material has good thermal stability.
5. Low engineering cost
The ceramic composite hose is lightweight and reasonably priced. It is 50% lighter than cast stone pipes of the same inner diameter; 20-30% lighter than wear-resistant alloy pipes, and has good wear and corrosion resistance. Due to its long service life, it reduces costs for supports, handling, installation, and operation. According to comparisons of engineering budgets and actual projects by relevant design institutes and construction units, the engineering cost of this pipe is comparable to that of cast stone, and about 20% lower compared to wear-resistant alloy pipes.
